"Design is my passion and I have loved completing the many homes, offices and retail spaces as well as my specialization in high-end luxury.

What I value most is forming personal relationships with my clients, I have found that this is the most important aspect of design, as I am able to get an accurate idea of what a client is truly looking for. 

On completion of my studies in Cape Town, I decided I would like to broaden my architectural and design knowledge by traveling to the many cities and towns, around the world, known for their magnificent and historical buildings. 

It was at the Milan design week that I discovered my fascination with luxury products and formed what was the start of a strong relationship with these brands.

This led me back to Cape Town where my journey continued into numerous design endeavors, Aurum Luxury Development in Bantry Bay and the Riva Yacht Flagship Store in the V&A Waterfront being two that stand out for me. This is where I met Lily Eskandari and our on-fire desire for beautiful spaces sparked, starting a life long journey together in forming KEAN&L.

Not only have I applied myself in the bright lights of cities across the planet, I have spent much of my life exploring Safari Lodges in Africa and so it didn't come as a surprise when I married my husband, co-owner of Tusk and Mane Safaris in Zambia. This introduced me to a whole new set of design interests and skills with their luxury mobile safari camps in deepest Africa.

Creativity and the opportunity to create have always been my driving force and it has been the vehicle that has allowed me to travel the world while working with some of the most iconic and historic brands.

Nature has always been my muse, taking elements of nature to create beauty in the smallest of details, creating memories and "living art" for many years to come.

The start of my creative passion in the development world began while working with, and learning from the incredible mind of Shane Baghai, on several projects around Canada.

Years of leading some of the most prestigious teams around the world have given me the opportunity to share my passions with those with whom I have worked, creating an effective and efficient team on every single project.

Every project brings a new opportunity, a new beginning, a new vision to life, and each is treated with care and respect.

My passion lives in the fulfilment of creating beauty in the world. Be it bringing it out in others or in the work that I undertake; my dedication and commitment always result in a productive transformation.

With over 6 years working experience in the profession, I contribute a trained eye for detail, a keen sense of proportional aesthetic, and most importantly an innate experimental charge catalysing a desire to continue to learn and grow within an ever-changing industry.

​

I have worked closely across all areas of the cycle of a project and am very experienced in the undertaking and accountability of bringing all 6 stages of the architectural or interior project to fruition, according to schedule.

I am a highly motivated self-starter using communication, transparency and respect as the three main anchors which underpin the execution of any of my projects. My crossover to interiors has not only strengthened an ergonomic approach to my skillset, but also broadened my detailed design abilities across an array of materials and finishes. Above all, I hold a strong relationship with my clients, my unflinching dedication has always resulted in their satisfaction, and enjoyment in working with me.

I believe that my experience and expertise in the residential and interior sector along with my impeccable detailing abilities highlight my passion as well as my interests and aspirations.

I am constantly searching and looking to discover new ways and methods of elevating my experience in the built environment, with the hope to stimulate and reinvigorate it for those around me too.

SHARON KHATANGA
Architect & interior designer
 

Born and bred in Zambia, I discovered my passion for designing living spaces whilst in grade school. Figuring out layouts and coming up with floor plans to briefs my classmates would give me of their dream houses was my favorite pastime.  Finding that this was something that scratched a creative itch in me, I further went on to develop this passion into a career at The Copperbelt University where I studied and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Architecture. The main driving force behind this decision was seeing just how far behind Zambia was lagging when it came to infrastructure worth looking twice at. Having actively practiced as an architect since leaving school, this force still drives and heavily influences my design language and style. To create unique, beautiful, high end structures and spaces, which I am proud to say that we are achieving.

More than just architecture, interior design has also been a long standing point of interest for me. Its one thing to have a well designed structure but what truly defines the space is how its interior environment is treated. Interior design speaks for the habitant of any space. It brings out ones character and personalizes the environment to suit them. When I look at a building, I see more than just its walls, windows, doors, ceiling and floors. I see a space oozing with potential to become absolutely anything its habitant desires of it to become. To be the bridge between what is and what could be of a space is always a thrill. With every new project comes new opportunities and my goal is to put my utmost best into every project I put my mind to.

ESTHER MILAMBO

Being a creative with a strong belief of designing spaces and buildings that are symbiotic to human existence is what any creative/ Designer strives for, myself included. My love for all things art and design can be traced back to my childhood love for drawing and solving jigsw puzzles. I love the intricate details of the 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle and how small pieces fit together to form a master piece.

 

Furthering my passion and interest for art and design, I went on to persue a degree in architecture at the university of Botswana, while pursuing my degree, I had opportunities to travel to Southern Africa, Uk and France to draw out my understanding of architecture and design. In my final year, I gained an interest in designing tailor made intimate spaces and designs unique to each individual.

 

Upon completion of my studies I worked with well renowned firms and continued to pursue my passion for art and design. Like the great Barry Dixon says “A room should start a conversation before people actually start exchanging words”.

SANANA THEU
ACCOUNTANT & FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

Sanana has been an integral part of the setup and development of KEAN&L from the get go in Zambia. She is the companies accountant and financial director.

 

Apart from the financial side, Sanana has a calling to help people. She mentors young entrepreneurs all over Zambia by helping them start up businesses and guiding them through out the process. She has got something to give where ever she is called to.

 

A true woman of God, praying with us, praising with us and encouraging us as a team.
